Frequently asked questions
What is Think Step by Step?
Think Step by Step is a community for original AI coding memes, developer stories and publicly anonymous confessions about programming and vibe coding.
Can I post?
Yes. Sign in to create an original meme, story or confession, then submit it for moderator review. Use only images you own or have permission to use.
How are confessions anonymous?
Hidden-author confessions omit your identity from the public post. Administrators retain account ownership information; this is public anonymity, not anonymity from the service. Do not include identifying details in your text or images.
Who moderates?
The site is operated by Martin. Moderators review submissions before publication and can reject or remove content. Use the reporting feature for problems.
How does the weekly creator ranking work?
Keep at least 3 different approved posts public across your publishing history to qualify. Memes, stories and confessions qualify. They do not have to be published in the same week. Once qualified, your score adds eligible upvotes on up to three best posts first published this week; one scoring post is enough. Weeks run Monday to Sunday, UTC. Votes count only when cast by another account at least 48 hours old, during the same week. More posts cannot increase the three-post limit. Hidden-author confessions can count privately toward qualification, but never contribute to weekly scores or appear in ranking previews. Regular upvote totals stay the same. Ties use a stable creator order.
Credit and reuse
Creators keep the rights they have in their contributions. Public access is not a blanket license to copy or train on a work. Check each post's attribution and obtain permission where required. Read our terms and privacy notice.
